180 Degree Rule

This is where you show characters being on a certain side of the frame and shot, to do this they would keep the camera on one side of the 180 line and film shots of them being on that side. But if they want to change it for whatever reason they would have to show that they have crossed the line effectively and then once they have switched they have to stay on that side unless they want to move again by doing the same process. This is so the audience doesn’t get confused about where people are.

Categories and Tags

Categorising

This is when different types of media put subjects/issues/articles/information into groups so that they can be easily accessed or are able to find quickly without a lot of hassle. Websites can easily do this as they have the technology to make or add lots of different categories so that they can sort out all their information. This is very useful to things like the news channels, tv channel and educational websites etc because lots of different information is sorted out so that the audience is able to find what they are looking for a lot easier and a lot faster than they would if they weren’t categorised.

Tagging is where you create a link to either a person so that they will be notified to show that you tagged them, you do this by usually putting an @ sign before the persons name or it can also be where you put a hash(#) before a word or a sentence so that more people can use it to show their photos or status etc, but this is where it becomes something called a hashtag. Tags are popular to be used on social networks like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook where people or images or statuses can trend in the world where enough people are using the same tag to make it very popular.
